In 2008 Kjell Hahn designed and painted the interior walls of the Indian restaurant Bombay in Kobe, Japan. The previous installation in the Akashi Bombay restaurant was destroyed in a fire in 2006. (no photo available)
In the installation there are three two-meter wide columns in the restaurant, each with a 50 cm tall band painted with a different theme. The entrance column is banded with a group faces based on the “Mask” series. The column next to the bar is a group of Oni (Japanese ogres). On the far side of the restaurant the column is based on the “Oni Landscape: Nebulous Beings” series. Bombay is located about 100 meters south of the JR Tarumi train station
