at the Inax showroom in Ginza was definitely worth checking out. Its a video installation that incorperates thousands of dandelion seed balls and videos of intricate paper dolls tied to plants moving in the wind. In the center of the room there is a video of a paper doll house with a bee hive inside. there arent any videos of his work on the internet. The show is up through the 28th.

Also saw a ceramics exhibition of Shiro Tsujimra's at Ippodo Gallery. The show is already closed. I've seen a few of his pieces before and was really excited when I happened to come across the exhibition. He was there for the closing so I waited for 15 minutes to talk to him. I tried to talk to him about his work but whatever i said didnt impress him, and he told me (and everyone else in the gallery) that I didnt know anything then kind of laughed at me and walked away. I crossed my name off the guest list when i left. still like his pots though.

bad news.. i busted up my hand pretty bad, but im not sure how. Last week I thought it was an infection from a poisionous thorn i got in my while hand running in the mountains. The infection cleared up but my middle finger isnt getting better. It feels a lot worse than it looks.

American Artist Kjell Hahn firing and working at Japanese artist Chiaki Horikoshi's anagama kiln in Onishi Japan. Mr. Hahn runs Shiro Oni studio and art residency., located about 15 minutes from the kiln site.

we finished firing the kiln. It took 10 days to get everything ready, cut the wood, load fire and then clean up the kiln site.
we wont know the result for a week when we open the kiln, but I had a good time doing it and learned a lot. This was the first time I was in charge of the firing and had to make a lot of decisons I didnt have to make before. I've come up with a lot of new ideas that will help streamline the whole process and hopefully produce some better pots the next time around.
